WEST TOWNSHEND, Vt. – All this beautiful snow has made for some excellent cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Weather and snow permitting, the West River Community Project is holding a cross-country ski tour, in conjunction with Tasty Tuesday, on Feb. 17. Join Sally Newton for a ski along the West River Trail in West Townshend. We will meet at the trailhead, at 4 p.m., ski for an hour or so, and then congregate at the West Townshend Country Store for food and music. The West River Trail has very gentle terrain, so all levels of skill on skis are welcome. If you are a total beginner, reach out to Newton for a possible lesson beforehand. There is a limited amount of equipment available to borrow. Kids are encouraged to attend.
