STRATTON, Vt. – The Stratton Community Foundation celebrated another successful fundraiser with its annual golf outing, held on Friday, Aug. 29, at Stratton Mountain Golf Course. Thanks to the generous support of players, sponsors, and donors, the event raised critical funds for the foundation’s Head-to-Toe initiative, a program that ensures children in southern Vermont have the basic necessities to learn, grow, and thrive.

The golf outing contributed to the foundation’s $100,000 Head-to-Toe program, which supports more than 600 children in southern Vermont year-round with seasonal necessities: school backpacks and dental kits in the fall, warm winter outerwear, and new sneakers and socks in the spring. Local schools also receive Moving Mountains funds to assist students facing crises – offering immediate support for needs like lice kits, toiletries, laundry services, grocery and gas cards, and more.

This year’s event was further empowered by the ongoing commitment from the Alterra Mountain Company Community Foundation, which will match fundraising efforts from the golf outing and other initiatives in support of the Head-to-Toe program, and a generous $10,000 matching gift from Suzi Rueck. These matching contributions help extend the impact of every donation, directly benefiting children in need across the mountain and valley communities.

In addition to the golf 0uting, the foundation’s Head-to-Toe/Shred4Nate Raffle is now underway. All proceeds support both the Head-to-Toe program and the Foundation’s mental health initiatives, which together address both the physical and emotional needs of underserved children in the region.
