KEENE, N.H. – On Sept. 17, the fourth annual John A. Hubbard Memorial Kurn Hattin Golf Classic was held at the Keene Country Club, bringing golfers and community members together for a day of friendly competition in support of Kurn Hattin Home and School for Children.

The annual event raises funds to benefit the children Kurn Hattin serves. A residential and academic community, Kurn Hattin provides children from families facing difficult circumstances with the stability and care necessary to build confidence and independence.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Andrew Richardson, a representative of event sponsor Savings Bank of Walpole, and his team, including Derek Paul, Jalen Rines, and Kevin Rines, took home top honors. Golfers then enjoyed a dinner buffet and participated in the interactive fundraising event “Fund a Need,” where generous pledges were made to benefit the Children’s Activity Fund. The festivities also included the Pete Johnson Memorial Golf Ball Drop Raffle, featuring individually numbered golf balls dropped from a helicopter.

Kurn Hattin extends its gratitude to the tournament’s generous sponsors, including Platinum Sponsor For the Promising Future of Service to Children; Gold Sponsor World Insurance; and Silver Sponsors Savings Bank of Walpole, Len-Tex Corp., and Prime Buchholz LLC. Kurn Hattin also thanks everyone who came out to the course, friends who purchased golf balls for the raffle, and supporters who participated in the “Bid for Bright Futures” online auction held the same week. Thanks to this collective generosity, Kurn Hattin exceeded fundraising expectations, raising $36,000.

This outpouring of community support helps fund not only the care of children at Kurn Hattin, but also the experiences and opportunities that help build brighter futures.
