REGION – The Stratton Community Foundation is proud to announce that it has awarded 26 scholarships valued at $249,000 to graduating seniors across the region this June. In partnership with generous local families and donors, the foundation presented 15 college scholarships and 11 trade scholarships to students representing Burr and Burton Academy, Leland & Gray Union High School, and Arlington Memorial High School.
This year’s awards mark a major milestone for the organization with the official launch of the foundation’s trade scholarship program. While the foundation has provided more than a dozen donor-funded trade opportunities over the last few years, formalizing the program creates a sustainable framework for students pursuing trade and technical education on an ongoing basis.
The four-year college scholarships and two-year trade scholarships are designed to ease the financial burden on local graduates as they transition into college or specialized training to prepare for careers in the 21st century. With the addition of the 26 scholarships awarded in 2026, the foundation now has 84 active college and trade scholarships.
“Heading into our area schools in June to celebrate these hardworking seniors has been such an honor and a highlight of our year,” said Meredith Morin, executive director of the Stratton Community Foundation. “With the formal launch of our trade scholarship program this year, we are thrilled to expand our reach and provide dependable, multiyear support for students entering the skilled trades. This milestone, and the $249,000 invested in our youth this spring, is a direct reflection of our community’s incredible generosity.”
The Stratton Community Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to the donors and families whose vision and philanthropy make these life-changing educational opportunities possible.
