SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – The Student of the Month program of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks recognizes young men and women for achievements in school and community life, hobbies, athletics, club, and community service. The Springfield Elks Lodge is pleased to recognize Amelia “Millie” Allen, a junior at Springfield High School, as the Elks Student of the Month for December.

Millie is the daughter of Margie Reurink and Reuben Allen, of Springfield, Vt. In her nomination, her teacher wrote, “Millie is a model student-athlete. In the classroom she is locked in and dedicated to her studies. She completes her work, leads discussions, and asks insightful questions.”

Outside of the classroom, Allen is a member of varsity soccer, and indoor and outdoor track. She is a member of the Springfield High School math team, and participated in HOBY 2025.

Allen is also an avid dancer, participating in ballet, modern dance, and jazz classes, performing annually in the “Nutcracker” holiday performances.

Allen remains active completing community service hours as well, most recently supporting the Springfield Parks and Recreation Department youth soccer programs, and helping with concessions at River Valley RADS events. In her free time, outside of school, she enjoys reading, and spending time with friends and family.

Her current plans after graduating high school are to attend college, but currently, she is undecided about her major. Congratulations on your accomplishments, Millie.
