BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – Bellows Falls Union High School (BFUHS) and the Bellows Falls Elks Lodge 1619 are proud to announce that Kory Hallock has been selected as the October Elks Student of the Month. This recognition honors students who demonstrate excellence in academic effort, attitude, attendance, and contributions to both school and community life. Kory is the daughter of John Hallock, of Grafton, and Michelle Hallock, of Springfield.
Hallock’s teachers describe her as an outstanding student who consistently goes above and beyond expectations. She approaches her classes with focus, organization, and initiative, often completing assignments ahead of schedule and taking pride in the quality of her work. She demonstrates maturity by seeking help when needed, maintaining strong communication with her teachers, and showing a genuine commitment to learning.
Hallock is a kind and empathetic student, who consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic. Through her work-based learning experience at Rushton Farm, she shows dedication, responsibility, and a genuine willingness to learn. She begins every school day on the farm at 6 a.m., before coming into BFUHS for her academic classes – a clear reflection of her commitment and discipline. Hallock approaches every task with a positive attitude and respect for others, making her a valued member of both the classroom and the farm community.
Known for her positive attitude and kindness, Hallock is friendly, polite, and always willing to lend a hand. Whether assisting teachers, supporting classmates, or volunteering to take on extra responsibilities, she embodies the qualities of respect and leadership that define a true role model at BFUHS.
Hallock has also been recognized for her dedication to her Work-Based Learning (WBL) program, where she has maintained perfect attendance, and consistently completes her check-ins and timesheets on time. Her teachers describe her as enthusiastic, dependable, and deeply engaged in her work. In addition, she is an active member of the Mental Health Awareness student group, where she supports her peers, and helps promote a positive and inclusive school environment.
Through her commitment, kindness, and contributions to school and community life, Hallock reflects the ideals upheld by both Bellows Falls Union High School and the Elks lodge. The faculty, staff, and members of the Lodge extend their sincere congratulations on this well-earned honor.
