REGION – I talk to people every day who feel unsure about what to expect when getting a mortgage. The good news is that the process is far more straightforward than it might seem. Here’s how it typically works, and what you can expect when we go through it together.
Our first step is simply talking through what you’re hoping to accomplish, and what timeline feels right for you. No paperwork required at this stage.
When you’re ready to take the next step, you’ll share a few basic documents – things like recent pay stubs, W-2s or tax returns, and bank statements. I can provide you with a loan application checklist so you know exactly what’s needed. These items help me understand your starting point so I can guide you accurately.
Once I’ve reviewed your information, I’ll walk you through the loan options that fit your goals. We’ll look at estimated monthly payments, interest rate scenarios, and how each option lines up with your budget. My job is to explain everything in plain language, so you can make decisions confidently.
When you’re comfortable with the direction, we’ll complete your application together. Depending on your situation and timing, we may also talk about locking in an interest rate. My goal is to make this part easy and predictable.
After your application is submitted, your loan moves into processing and underwriting. Behind the scenes, a team reviews your documents, verifies information, and keeps everything on track. I’ll stay in touch throughout the process, and let you know if anything additional is needed.
Once everything is approved, you’ll receive your final figures to look over ahead of closing. I’ll walk through those numbers with you to make sure everything is clear and you feel fully prepared.
On closing day, you’ll sign your documents and complete your transaction. I’ll be here for questions, support, or anything else you need along the way.
My goal is to make sure you always know what to expect, what comes next, and how to move forward comfortably. If you’d like to talk through what this process might look like for you, I’m always happy to help.
