BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – On Saturday, March 28, at 1 p.m., there will be a No Kings rally at the Bellows Falls Waypoint Visitors Center, followed by a march through the Village of Bellows Falls. People of all ages from Bellows Falls, Saxtons River, Rockingham, Westminster, and surrounding villages and towns will come together with millions of Americans across the country in a nationwide day of nonviolent protest as part of the third No Kings National Day of Nonviolent Action. The Bellows Falls rally will feature music, speakers, and activities for kids.

Musician Holly Brewer will kick off prerally events at the Waypoint Center in Bellows Falls starting at around 12:15 p.m. The Milkhouse Heaters will perform, and students from The Putney School will offer hands-on activities for young children.

The rally will officially begin at 1 p.m., with artist and community leader Charlie Hunter as master of ceremonies. Speakers will include Vermont State Rep. Michelle Bos-Lun, Vermont State Rep. Mike Mrowicki, the Rev. Telos Whitfield, and high school student James Chapman. Local musicians Valerie Kosednar, Mark Grieco, and others will lead the crowd in songs of resistance.

Whitfield serves as minister at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in West Brattleboro. “As a faith leader, I am called to speak and respond to the injustice and violence happening in communities and cities across our country, and call out for our government to abide by the Constitution to ensure that all people have freedom to speak and move, access to health care and education,” Whitfield said. “We cannot succumb to fear, but need to respond with courage and love, the most powerful force.”

Chapman, 17, is a junior at Brattleboro Union High School. “I’m speaking at No Kings Day because I feel that we all have a moral obligation to help others when we can, and to speak out against injustice as the opportunity to do so arises,” Chapman said. “The current state of our great nation is frightening and disheartening, and No Kings is one way to show support for our neighbors – to keep that fear at bay.”

At around 1:45 p.m., organizers will lead participants on a march through the Village of Bellows Falls. The march will follow a route of 1.5 miles at a relaxed pace. Attendees who are unable to march or prefer not to are welcome to remain at the Waypoint Center, which is an ADA-accessible space with limited seating available for nonmarchers.

Marchers will return to the Waypoint Center just before 2:30 p.m. for the closing of the event.

No Kings is a mass nonviolent movement that has already mobilized millions – from more than 5 million participants on June 14, 2025, to more than 7 million people joining over 2,700 events across all 50 states and the District of Columbia on Oct. 18, 2025 – and is growing. Organizers of the Bellows Falls event are encouraging participants to invite three friends who have not attended previous protests to attend with them on March 28, to help meet the national goal of 11 to 12 million participants.

Indivisible Greater Falls and Grafton’s Supporters of Democracy are proud to join with other groups organizing No Kings nonviolent protests across the country, including ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, Common Defense, 50501, Human Rights Campaign, Indivisible, League of Conservation Voters, MoveOn, National Nurses United, Public Citizen, and SEIU.
