“Tracking and The Art of Seeing” with CCCA

CAVENDISH, Vt. – The Cavendish Community and Conservation Association (CCCA) brings you another exploration in the Walk and Talk series, “Tracking and The Art of Seeing,” on June 13, at 10 a.m., beginning at the Hardy Hill Trail trailhead, on Susannah Johnson Road in Cavendish. To register or make inquiries, email cavendishcommunityconservation@gmail.com. Be sure to bring tick repellent and wear good walking shoes. This is a moderate trail for hiking, but as with most trails there are ups and downs.

Join naturalist and wildlife tracker Rose Richter for a walk into the landscape of the tracker. Begin to look with a tracker’s eyes, tuning into the subtle signs of nature that surround us. Seeing in this way opens a doorway into knowing more about who is in the neighborhood, their behavior, and the greater story of life that unfolds on the landscape every day. We will look for rubs, scrapes, scent markings, feeding signs, scat, burrows, tracks, and more. We will follow a simple process that begins with observation and ends with creating a master list of who left these signs that you can take with you out on your next adventure.

In the event of heavy rain, contact the CCCA at the email address above to find out if the event has been postponed.
