BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – Verda Raymond passed away on Jan. 18, 2026, at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, N.H. Verda was born on Dec. 15, 1937, in Mooers, N.Y., the daughter of Maurice Monette and Marie (Golden). She spent many years working as a nurse aide in various nursing homes.
In 1957, she married Alcide Raymond, who predeceased her. She is survived by her children Dean Raymond and his wife Lori, Robert Raymond, Theresa Lombard and her husband Rich, James Raymond, Gene Raymond, Jack Raymond, Nancy Voisine and her Husband Mark, and Steve Raymond. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Alcide; sisters Shirley, Theresa, and Dorothy; and parents Maurice and Marie.
Verda enjoyed country music, knitting, and reading.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 6-8 p.m., at the Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will take place on Friday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m., at St. Charles Church, 31 Cherry Hill in Bellows Falls, Vt. Burial will follow at a later date, in South Hadley, Mass.
