
CHESTER, Vt. – Ron Patch, 73, died unexpectedly at his home, on Saturday, July 5, 2025. He was born Dec. 15, 1951, in Chester, Vt., the son of Arnold and June (Emery) Patch.
Ron was a lifelong antiques dealer in the area.
He wrote a weekly column in The Vermont Journal and The Shopper, and had four books published on local history. He was a member for many years and past president of the Chester Historical Society, being deeply interested in and committed to the history of Chester.
Ron enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hiking, and exploring cemeteries.
He is survived by his children Carrie (Vince) Jewell and Shawn (Paula) Patch; siblings Cheryl Patch, Amber Patch, and Brian Patch; and grandchildren Josie and Samantha Patch, and Ian and Evan Jewell.
He was predeceased by his parents and sister Norma Lasonde.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
