Lynn D. Reilly, 1970-2023

Lynn D. Reilly, 1970-2023

LUDLOW, Vt. – Lynn Denise Reilly, 52, of Ludlow, Vt., entered eternal rest on Sept. 16, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents Thomas Reilly and Ann Reilly, and she left behind her brother Patrick Reilly; sister-in-law Kim Reilly; nieces Megan Reilly and Reagan Reilly; nephews Sean Reilly and Noah Reilly; stepmother Lillian Reilly; uncle Jack Reilly; aunt Gheri Reilly; and cousins Marcus Barnes-Reilly, Taylor White, Joseph White, and Shaun Reilly; as well as an incredible friend group.

Lynn’s life began in Queens, N.Y., on Oct. 19, 1970, and she grew up in Massapequa Park, N.Y. She was a graduate of Massapequa High School, and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Adelphi University.

Twenty years ago, Lynn created a new life for herself in Ludlow, Vt. She worked about town, including at Okemo Mountain, the American Legion, and most recently at the Gassetts Group. Ludlow, being a small town, allowed Lynn to display her soft spot for those in need. If you needed something done, you called Lynn and she would figure it out.

Twenty-two years ago, Lynn became “Aunt Lynn” to her nieces and nephews Megan, Sean, Noah, and Reagan. She spent countless hours visiting them all in Rochester, N.Y., where she was consistently the best aunt ever. Reagan was blessed to spend many summers visiting Aunt Lynn in Ludlow. Between art projects, Lynn would parade her around town on the golf cart proudly introducing her to everyone.

No matter when or how you knew Lynn, you quickly became aware of her tendency to never hold back her opinion, and knack for telling it like it is. Lynn’s other superpower was being generous to a fault, combined with a “get ‘er done” attitude that benefitted all who knew her.

On Saturday, Oct. 21, we will gather to celebrate Lynn’s life. Funeral Mass to be held at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s, 10 Pleasant Street, Springfield, Vt., followed by a reception at Calcutta’s, 87 Fox Lane Extension, Ludlow, Vt.

We invite you to make a donation to Black River Good Neighbors (www.brgn.org) in Lynn’s memory, in place of sending flowers.
