CHESTER, Vt. – On Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, Laurie Jean Jackson passed away, at the age of 50. Laurie was born on June 19, 1975, in Chester, Vt., to Frank and Carol (Brooks) Balch.
Laurie had a variety of different skill sets and jobs where she left an impact on those around her, from driving a bus and being a cashier, to being a member services representative at One Credit Union’s Chester branch. Laurie was a beloved and avid member of her community, bringing light and her energetic personality to those with whom she worked, and who had the pleasure of knowing her. Along with Laurie’s dedication to helping those in her community through both her work and volunteering, she was a devoted mother, partner, and friend.
Laurie was predeceased by her husband Ronald Jackson in 2020, with whom she had two daughters. Laurie is survived and will be remembered by her father Frank, mother Carol, her two daughters Rose and Pearl Jackson, and the many friends and community members who got to know her.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Ludlow American Legion on Saturday, March 7, from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Springfield Humane Society or your local animal shelter.
