
SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Laurence L. “Larry” LaCross, 68, died unexpectedly on Feb. 7, 2026, at Springfield Hospital. He was born on March 3, 1957, in Springfield, Vt., the son of Ernest R. and Margaret “Peggy” LaCross. He graduated from Springfield High School, Class of 1975.
Larry was a quiet, kind, and gentle man, who loved his family deeply. He was a lifelong dairy farmer. He enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee with his wife, spending time in his garden, tending to his tree farm, playing his guitar, and working as a welder.
Larry was always there for his family. He faithfully cooked special dishes specifically selected to share with his kids and extended family. He was a lover of sports, and supported his own children’s ventures as athletes. He was a devoted fan at his grandsons’ football, basketball, and baseball games. He was an avid Patriots fan. He built a ‘41 Willys coupe and restored a ‘56 Corvette.
Larry is survived by his wife Mary; his children Joshua, Jason, Jessica (Chris), Kati (Paul), and Alan (Michelle); siblings Holly Capen (Bud) and Karen Gould (Frank); brother-in-law Jim; and grandchildren Lucas, Thomas, Carson, Ben, Gabe, Jacqueline, Meredith, and Collin.
A Celebration of Life and burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Springfield Booster Club, P.O. Box 666, Springfield, VT 05156.
