SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Doris G. Strong, 93, died on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026. She was born on Feb. 7, 1932, to Sherman and Florence Goodrich.
She married Rodney Strong on Sept. 9, 1950, and raised six children as a homemaker. Later in life she worked on Okemo Mountain as the crew boss.
Doris had a love for family, and enjoyed snowmobiling and camping with family. She also enjoyed vacationing in Maine to satisfy her love of lighthouses.
She is survived by her three sons Scott Strong, of Springfield, Vt., Rich (Joanne) Strong, of Springfield, Vt., and James Strong, of Proctorsville, Vt.; her daughter-in-law Sue Strong, of Ludlow, Vt.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Doris is predeceased by her husband; her parents; her siblings Donald, Zeb, and Vera “Sis” Blanchard; her daughters Shirley Beauchain and Dolores Lombard, and her son Randy Strong.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
