CHESTER, Vt. – Christopher Mark Farrar was born on March 23, 1956, as the fourth of five sons, to Ann and Francis Farrar, of Andover, Vt. As a youth and teen, Chris attended local schools, graduating from Green Mountain High School in 1974. From there, he pursued his undergraduate studies at UVM, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering with a specific focus on computer electronics. Chris thereafter followed his career to the West Coast, working decades for Teradata and IBM. He died suddenly on July 19, at his home in Los Gatos, Calif.
Chris was a fun-loving person who deeply enjoyed hiking with his friends in the beautiful regions of the West, and he loved photography. His family and friends will remember him as loyal, generous, keen-witted, good-humored, and polite.
Survivors include his four brothers, Francis Jr. (Jane), of Killen, Ala.; and Peter, Timothy (Noël), and Daniel, of Chester, Vt.; and numerous cousins.
Plans for a local service are yet to be determined.
