Christine B. Parker, 1954-2026

PROCTORSVILLE, Vt. – Christine Belle Parker, 72, of Proctorsville, Vt., passed away at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care in Lebanon, N.H., on Sept. 2, 2026. Chris was born on Feb. 17, 1954, at Springfield Hospital, to Belle (Spaulding) McKnight and Fletcher Johnson.

Chris grew up in Proctorsville, Vt., and Chester, Vt., and lived briefly in Glendale, Calif., as a child. She graduated from Green Mountain Union High School in 1973. She married James Parker, of Proctorsville, in 1984, and had one son, Joshua, in 1985. The family moved from downtown Proctorsville and built their new home on their family farm, Meadowbrook Farm, in 1993, where Chris lived for the rest of her life. She was an employee of Springfield Hospital and worked privately as a caregiver. She was a lifelong member of the Assembly of God Church in Proctorsville. Chris enjoyed flowers and spending time with her grandson, Coltrane.

Christine is survived by her son, Joshua Parker, and his wife, Danielle Singleton; her grandchildren, Coltrane Parker, Sage Josselyn, and Sydney Reid; and many beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was predeceased by her husband, James Parker, and parents, Belle McKnight and Fletcher Johnson.

There will be no services at this time. Donations in Christine’s name can be made to the Proctorsville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 81, Proctorsville, VT 05153.
