WESTHERSFIELD, Vt. – As the holiday season begins, the Weathersfield Food Shelf Board of Directors and volunteers thank everyone who has made monetary and in-kind donations to our cause this past year.
Most recently, our supporters have donated their excess garden crops, including peaches, apples, squash, and peppers. Gifts of luscious heirloom tomatoes looked almost too beautiful to eat. Another donation of several pumpkins of various sizes and varieties lined our walkway, and welcomed all to the facility. The pumpkins quickly found new homes. And meat purchased from local farms is always a favorite.
The food shelf is open to Weathersfield residents the second and fourth Thursday of each month, with some adjustments made for the holidays, from 2-4 p.m. We are located in the old Perkinsville schoolhouse, and have a mailing address of P.O. Box 69, Ascutney, VT 05030. The facility is staffed entirely by volunteers, and 95% of funds raised goes to the purchase of food.
We thank you again for your kindness and caring for our neighbors in need.
