SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – The Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce invites residents and visitors from across Vermont and New England to celebrate the flavors, creativity, and community spirit of the Green Mountain State at the 42nd annual Vermont Apple Festival & Craft Show, taking place Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., at Riverside Middle School, 13 Fairgrounds Road in Springfield, Vt.
Promoted as “Vermont’s Largest One-Day Event,” the Apple Festival will bring together hundreds of vendors, a large farmers market, food trucks, specialty foods, artists, crafts, and a Home and Health Pavilion, all in one location.
This year’s festival offers much more than shopping. Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of activities and attractions throughout the day, including a mechanical bull, Fastest Kid in Town, a kids’ zone, goats and alpacas, drone soccer, a virtual reality game station, and an appearance by Miss Vermont.
One of the sweetest traditions of the festival will be the pie-baking contest, giving local bakers a chance to put their best recipes to the test. The first-place winner will take home $100, with a $50 junior prize also offered.
“Last year we had over 8,000 attendees,” said Mike Schmitt, executive director of the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce. “This year we are expecting the same crowd and are providing more variety and more vendors, so come on up, down, or over and enjoy a good old-fashioned Vermont event.”
Whether you come for Vermont-made products, locally grown food, handcrafted goods, family activities, or simply a great fall day with friends and neighbors, the Vermont Apple Festival & Craft Show is designed to offer something for all ages. The festival also provides an opportunity to support the farmers, makers, artists, craftspeople, food producers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses that help make Vermont communities thrive.
