CLAREMONT, N.H. – The Claremont Growers Collective announces the “Selling Homemade or Processed Foods in New Hampshire” program, set for July 27, from 6-8 p.m., at the First Congregational Church, 72 Pleasant Street in Claremont. This program is for anyone interested in selling some sort of processed food in New Hampshire, including preserves, pickles, baked goods, and more. Learn what you can sell from a home kitchen and what you can’t, what constitutes a commercial kitchen, facility requirements, restrictions on where these items can be sold, licensing, etc. The goal of the evening is to help community members better understand the opportunities, requirements, and resources involved in producing, processing, and selling local foods in New Hampshire.
The speaker for the program will be Royann Bossidy, food safety and defense specialist with the Food Protection Section, Division of Public Health Services, New Hampshire Department of Health & Human Services. Royann has been working in food protection for many years and will be a tremendous resource.
There will also be a presentation about two new facilities that will be offering specific food processing activities in the local area overseen by the Sullivan County Conservation District and the Well Collaborative NH, respectively.
Admission to this program is free. A suggested donation will help cover facility use. If you have any questions, please contact claremontgrowers@gmail.com.
