SAXTONS RIVER, Vt. – As a part of the 250th anniversary celebration, Our Place Community Food Center will provide an opportunity to help those in need with a food and funding drive, at the street fair held during Saxtons River Fourth of July festivities. This is a joint effort between Our Place and the Saxtons River Little Free Pantry.
“The number of people turning to Our Place for a meal or groceries is growing,” says Our Place Executive Director David Billings. “Giving by the community helps bridge the gap between what folks need and what we have to offer. Making a financial gift is the most helpful thing you can do. We buy in bulk and at a discount, so the dollar you spend on canned or packaged food goes further when combined with other funding.”
Food and cash gifts may be brought to the Our Place van, which will be parked on Main Street beside the Saxtons River Community Free Pantry, on Saturday, July 4, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Monthly or one-time gifts may also be made online at www.ourplacevermont.org, or by mailing a check to Our Place, P.O. Box 852, Bellows Falls, VT 05101.
