LUDLOW, Vt. – Four Square Hospitality will be hosting the Okemo Valley Oktoberfest at Off the Rails in Ludlow, on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 12-6 p.m. The event will feature live bands, Oktoberfest-themed food and beverages, along with children’s activities, and raffle prizes. Okemo Valley Oktoberfest is being held as a fundraiser for Okemo Valley TV, and will have free admission, with donations being accepted to support local grassroots media.

Okemo Valley TV is a nonprofit, community TV station and media center serving the Black River Valley and Okemo region. In addition to operating two community TV channels on local cable TV, and streaming live online 24/7 at www.okemovalley.tv and on the Okemo Valley TV app, the station offers a wide variety of free and low-cost media services, ranging from AV support and coverage of local government meetings and events, to providing training, equipment, and use of its studio to community members for the purposes of creating programming of their own. The organization is expanding its offerings this year, as it is preparing for the launch of the brand new community radio station WLUD.

Okemo Valley Oktoberfest will be held outside at Off the Rails, 64 Pond Street in Ludlow. The afternoon will be filled with live music, starting with local singer-songwriter Jenny Porter, and followed by touring act Red Daisy Revival, based in both Nashville and New Hampshire. The 50-50 raffle will feature local products such as beer from Long Trail, gift cards from area merchants, and a framed photo from Russ Hurlburt Photography. The Kids’ Zone will feature a video show and tell, games, Wunderlee’s Big Top Adventures’ interactive circus activities, as well as face painting.

Okemo Valley TV expresses gratitude to the local business and individuals who have supported this fundraiser, including hosts at Off the Rails/Four Square Hospitality, to lead organizer Lisa Hamm-Greenawalt, and to event sponsors Mary Davis Real Estate, Allen Pools & Spas, Brewfest Beverage, Down to the Roots, Green Mountain Fireside Specialties, Green Mountain Sugar House, Killington Distillery, Master Plumbing & Heating, and William Raevis Real Estate Vermont Properties. In-kind support has been provided by Diamond Realty, Green Mountain Sign & Graphics, Sammy B Music, and Stowe Cider.
