SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – The Springfield Town Library will host a community candidate forum on Monday, July 27, at 5 p.m., featuring Kristi Morris, Alice Emmons, and Mike Schmitt. The event offers residents an opportunity to meet the candidates, learn about their backgrounds and experience, and ask questions in an open and respectful setting.
Morris is a lifelong Springfield resident, a retired engineer, a longtime firefighter and EMT, a current member of the Springfield Selectboard, and a current member of the Vermont House of Representatives.
Schmitt is the executive director of the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce and an active community leader involved with economic development and local organizations. He served on the Springfield Selectboard for three years.
Emmons, a Springfield business owner and proprietor of Lamps & Shades by Alice, has represented the community in the Vermont House of Representatives since 1983 and serves on Springfield’s board of civil authority.
The forum is free and open to the public. Community members are encouraged to attend, to hear directly from the candidates, and to participate in an informative discussion about the futures of Springfield and Windsor County.
