Ludlow seeks community input on Draft Village Vision Plan

LUDLOW, Vt. – What should the future of Ludlow Village look like?

The Town of Ludlow is inviting residents, business owners, property owners, and visitors to help answer that question at a community open house on Friday, Oct. 16, from 4-6 p.m., at Ludlow Town Hall, 37 South Depot Street.

The Village Vision Plan is a master plan for Ludlow Village focused on transportation, housing, economic opportunities, and the overall vitality of the village. Project consultants have prepared draft recommendations, and the town is seeking community input before the plan is finalized.

“This plan is about the future of our village, so it’s important that it reflects the priorities of the people who live, work, own businesses, and spend time here,” said Erin Ladd, Ludlow’s director of planning and zoning. “Whether you can spare 10 minutes or stay for the whole evening, your feedback will make a real difference.”

Attendees can drop in anytime during the two-hour open house. Most people will need just 10 to 20 minutes to review the recommendations, answer interactive questions, and talk with members of the project team. From 5-5:30 p.m., the team will give a formal presentation on the proposed recommendations. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Village Vision Plan is funded through a Better Connections grant, a partnership between the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans), Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development (ACCD), and Vermont Agency of Natural Resources (ANR). The program supports community planning that brings together transportation, land use, economic vitality, and resilience to strengthen Vermont’s downtowns and village centers.

Anyone who cannot attend in person can join the 5:00 p.m. presentation via Zoom by emailing ELadd@ludlow.vt.us for the link.

Project information, updates, and other ways to participate are available through the Ludlow Village Vision Plan StoryMap, which is available on the Ludlow Planning & Zoning homepage.
