SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Community members are invited to an evening of reflection, music, and conversation with author and musician Michael Skinner at an upcoming presentation titled “Lessons Learned from Trauma and Abuse: Healing with Music, Nature and Love.” The event will take place Tuesday, June 2, from 6-7 p.m., at the Springfield Town Library, 43 Main Street, Springfield, Vt.
Drawing from his newly released memoir, Skinner will share personal reflections and insights on healing from trauma, abuse, and mental health challenges. The presentation explores pathways toward resilience and growth, moving beyond survival toward a life of thriving.
The program will include a short reading from Skinner’s memoir, live music woven throughout the presentation, and time for conversation and audience questions.
Designed with care and sensitivity, the event follows a trauma-informed, choice-centered, and community-focused approach, creating a thoughtful and supportive environment for attendees. The presentation is best suited for adult audiences.
