NEWPORT, N.H. – To celebrate Halloween, the Newport Opera House Association and Nathan Gardner, in association with Lumos Films, are proud to present “Ghostly Getaways: Live on Stage” on Oct. 30, at 8 p.m., at the Newport Opera House, 20 Main Street in Newport, N.H.
“Ghostly Getaways: Live on Stage” is inspired by the upcoming television series “Ghostly Getaways,” is produced by Lumos Films in California, and was created by Gardner, who also produces the theatrical event “Real Ghost Stories,” which he premiered at the Newport Opera House in 2021 with paranormal celebrity Adam Berry. The series features Gardner as he travels the country looking for the most haunted accommodations to be found with various guests. Investigating the hauntings by night and featuring the destination’s spookier and quirkier daytime activities (and all the good food), the show seeks to be your paranormal travel agent and to show you how to build your own perfect ghostly getaway. The pilot episode releases soon on a streaming network to be announced shortly, and this new live show features Gardner’s personal, true ghost stories and evidence that inspired the series.
“‘Ghostly Getaways’ began as an idea for a book, evolving into a series concept when our friends at Lumos Films came on board,” said Gardner. “Now, after putting together a pilot and distribution plan, we’re expanding to my natural habitat: the theater. I’m beyond excited to begin this new theatrical journey with audiences in Newport at the Opera House I grew up with as we prepare to launch the show. And to share these stories in a legitimately haunted theatre on the night before Halloween? I couldn’t be more excited.”
During the event, Gardner will share personal stories of paranormal encounters that he’s never shared before – including some locations local to the area, all of which inspired the series – and some of the visual and audio evidence he’s captured along the way. Audience members will get to ask questions and learn insights and tips on how to investigate the paranormal themselves, and get tips on how to plan their own “ghostly getaway.” A strictly limited number of add-ons will be available with tickets to join Gardner for a paranormal investigation following the performance.
Following the event in Newport, “Ghostly Getaways: Live on Stage” will be presented on the west coast, with dates lining up in California to begin with, and more rolling out after the series premier.
