Using the word “life” as an example, Michael will explore what lexicography is, and what dictionaries can – and can’t – tell us about language.

Metivier is not only a lexicographer, but also a poet, editor, and musician. His writing has appeared in well-known publications like Poetry, Orion, The Kenyon Review, and African American Review. He lives in Windsor with his family.
