Creative Aging Open House at Main Street Arts

SAXTONS RIVER, Vt. – Creativity is for everyone, including older adults. Whether you have been a lifelong artist, are returning to creative activities after a hiatus during your career, or are brand new to developing creative skills, Senior Solutions recognizes creative aging as an integral part of healthy aging. In pursuit of that, we have partnered with Main Street Arts in Saxtons River to provide arts opportunities for seniors, by instructors who are registered with the Vermont Arts Council and trained in working with our senior population.

On Saturday, Oct. 14, from 12-2 p.m., Main Street Arts will have an Open House to allow seniors to preview classes such as Memory Boxes, Art Journals, Mosaics, Photography, and more. The artists will be present, as will a string band for your entertainment. And to top it off, lunch will be provided to all seniors.

Humans have an innate desire for expression and creation. Arts projects help us communicate the human experience in fun, meaningful, and impactful ways. Sharing our creative work is a great way to connect with others and build new connections. The arts can also help people achieve a sense of purpose and personal growth, and can have a positive impact on social, emotional, mental, and physical health.

To RSVP, email Info@MainSTreetArts.org, or call the Senior Solutions helpline at 802-885-2669.
