CCCA remembers Barbara Dickey

CAVENDISH, Vt. – Barbara Dickey, a vibrant and much-loved Cavendish resident, friend to many, creator, and contributor to community organizations, is no longer with us in body, although her spirit will always be a part of our collective. She was an integral part of the Cavendish Community and Conservation Association (CCCA). One of her most visible contributions was creating the Historic Barn Recovery program, helping many homeowners in our community apply for grants to restore their old barns. She was also instrumental in creating the Cavendish Community Fund, which was so successful it ceded from the CCCA to form its own nonprofit organization. We held many meetings in her lovely home, marveled at her lemon tree, admired her dog Mick, ate her delicious food, and enjoyed vibrant conversation. Always open to change, we watched as she and her son Andy transformed the house on Main Street, and created the perfect new home where she could spend the rest of her life. Thank you, Barbara, for all that you contributed, and the joy of life that you shared.
