Birding on the Farm with CCCD

WALPOLE, N.H. – The Cheshire County Conservation District (CCCD), in partnership with the Monadnock Nature and Bird Club, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Windham County Natural Resources Conservation District (Windham NRCD), Monadnock Outdoors, and Southeastern Vermont Audubon Society, is excited to continue the popular Birding on the Farm workshop series in May.

Join us for an exciting opportunity to bird on farms throughout our region. Learn new skills, and learn about wildlife conservation on the farm. As spring approaches, learn more about the importance of delayed mowing and other wildlife considerations.

Participants will learn about farm habitat dynamics for birds, habitat management, wildlife conservation on the farm, and farm conservation easements and their importance in supporting local agriculture and wildlife, as well as species identification, from experienced bird guides.

This workshop series is open to birders and enthusiasts of all skill levels. Participants should bring binoculars with them (extras may be available), and wear weather-appropriate dress and boots. Please note that we will take stops for discussion and observation. Signs will direct to parking areas.

The next Birding on the Farm workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 5, from 7- 9 a.m., at Retreat Farm in Brattleboro, Vt. The workshop is free. Registration is required at www.cheshireconservation.org/event-details/birding-on-the-farm-retreat-farm-3.
