BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – Members of the Bellows Falls Woman’s club will meet at the United Church, 8 School Street, on Dec. 9, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Members have selected names to present holiday gifts to residents of Sterling House and Morning Glory Manor. Wrapped and labeled gifts should be brought to the December meeting for distribution. Members will enjoy a social time to conclude the meeting.
Darlene Remy, president of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of Vermont (GFWC-VT), was the guest of the club at its Nov. 11 meeting. She spoke on her special project, “Color My World,” with its focus on colorblindness, affecting an estimated 300 million people worldwide. She emphasized the emotional response that people have when presented with special glasses which allow them to see and differentiate colors for the first time.
The Bellows Falls Woman’s Club is a member of the GFWC-VT, an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service.
Area women are invited to join the club, enjoy its monthly programs, and to participate in its projects. For information, call Sally McGaffigan, membership chair, at 603-445-2527.
