CHESTER, Vt. – Author Carol Ann Leofanti has released her new book, “The Stone House Killer,” available on Amazon. Leofanti describes her book as a phycological thriller that takes place in a small town in Vermont, following a man named Dale who becomes fascinated with the story of his distant relative Phineas P. Gage, the railroad worker who survived a tamping iron passing through his skull only to emerge a completely different man. The story captures Dale’s imagination and, over the years, that fascination slowly deepens into something far more consuming.
Leofanti was born in Worcester, Mass., and has fond memories of her childhood growing up in Grafton, Mass. After graduating from Grafton High School, she went on to explore a variety of different careers in the Worcester County area, including owning and operating a breakfast/lunch restaurant, Gormandize Haven in Uxbridge, Mass., and earning a certification in early childhood education at Becker College in Worcester, Mass.
In 2011, Leofanti received her nursing pin as recognition for becoming a licensed practical nurse, and has enjoyed working in a variety of positions in the healthcare industry. In 2018, Leofanti and her boyfriend, Mark Ouellette, owned and operated Stone House Bed & Breakfast and Kettle Corn Company in Chester, Vt., for five years.
In 2021, Carol became part owner of Head Case Creations LLC, a company that sells fire sprinkler head protective cases used to provide temporary protection to fire sprinkler heads during active periods of construction, demolition, renovation, and mechanical services.
Living in Wells, Maine, Leofanti enjoys walking on the beach, photography, painting, writing, and spending time with family and friends. She can be contacted at leofantcarol@gmail.com.
