SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – On Wednesday, July 15, at 5:30 p.m., join HomeShare Vermont at the Springfield Town Library for a presentation all about homesharing.
Homesharing is an innovative and practical housing model that brings people together for mutual benefit. At its core, homesharing involves two or more individuals sharing a home in a way that supports both parties’ needs and enhances quality of life.
In a typical homesharing arrangement, one person provides a private bedroom and access to shared living spaces. In return, the home seeker may offer rent, assistance with household tasks, or a combination of both. Unlike traditional roommate situations, homesharing emphasizes collaboration, companionship, and personalized support between participants.
Each homesharing match is unique. Arrangements are thoughtfully tailored to reflect the individual preferences, lifestyles, and needs of those involved, ensuring a mutually beneficial living experience.
HomeShare Vermont facilitates these connections across a broad service area, including the counties of Addison, Caledonia, Chittenden, Essex, Franklin, Grand Isle, Lamoille, Orange, Orleans, Washington, Windham, and Windsor. Services also extend to the towns of Brandon, Killington, and Pittsfield in Rutland County.
This program is presented by Kayla Bernier-Wright, of Windham & Windsor Housing Trust and HomeShare Vermont; and Shari Borzekowski, of Thompson Senior Center and HomeShare Vermont.
