LONDONDERRY, Vt. – Green Mountain Gardeners is pleased to host Page Dickey, celebrated gardener, garden designer, and author, for a talk on Monday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. This free program is open to the public and will be held at the Londonderry Volunteer Rescue Squad building, 6068 Vermont Route 100 in Londonderry, Vt.
Dickey will talk on aspects of garden design, such as creating gardens that reflect their settings and planning gardens as extensions of our homes. Her talk should be particularly relevant for gardeners in our lovely State of Vermont.
Dickey has been gardening passionately since her early 20s, and writing about gardening, as well as designing gardens for others, for the last three decades. She has written eight books and edited another. Dickey lectures around the country about plants and garden design, and has written many articles for magazines over the years. Her garden at Duck Hill in North Salem, N.Y., has been featured in a variety of periodicals, including The New York Times, House and Garden, Elle Décor, Vogue, and Garden Design. Dickey has recently moved to Cornwall, Conn., where she and her husband are beginning a new gardening adventure.
A director emeritus of the Garden Conservancy, Dickey was recently elected an honorary member of the Garden Club of America. She also serves on the boards of several historic gardens in Connecticut and New York. More information about Dickey can be found at www.pagedickey.com.
