SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – There is a wonderful Vermont tradition of lighting our windows to let visitors know they are welcome. Main Street is our window to visitors and the community, so we light our street poles to let all know they are welcome.
Each year, the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce illuminates Main Street lampposts, Santa’s house, and the Community Holiday Tree. The iconic Vermont winter weather necessitates replacing lights each year. To help with the replacement, the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce set up the Light a Pole Fund many years ago, to support this festivity. The community can contribute to the fund by adopting a light pole for a fee, and help continue this time-honored tradition.
