BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – Soupsgiving will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Moose Family Center, 59 Westminster Street in Bellows Falls, to share our love of community by warming hearts, minds, and tummies, sharing soup from those who can and wish to make it, with those who cannot but may need it most.
Bring a soup to share if you are able, a bowl and spoon – we’ll have extras if you need them – your appetite, and your friendship and love for community. Soup warms the body and the spirit. This is our first, hopefully of many, gathering of hearts and minds around delicious bowls of soup.
With this in mind, we are collecting donations only, both financial and nonperishable, to benefit our local foodbank, Our Place Community Food Center, in their efforts to prevent hunger. Boxes for both will be available inside and outside the Moose Dining Hall.
This event will coordinate with the Bellows Falls Parade of Lights, starting also at 5 p.m. Drop off your soup and/or donations at the Moose Dining Hall, then watch the Parade of Lights, and come back in to warm up with soup and company. There will be beverages as well.
