REGION – New beginnings are happening all around us. It’s that time of year again. The temperature drops. Fields that were once green are now replaced with a fresh blanket of snow. The first snowfall of the year, and the transition to a feeling of peace and tranquility, as we shift into winter mode.
Snow is a signal to get into the holiday spirit. We busy ourselves with tasks in preparation for upcoming celebrations, and to gather with family and friends. We purchase a tree to decorate, gifts to wrap, food to enjoy, and more. And, with this change in season, we make our home a more festive place.
Go beyond the traditional decorations this year; write a holiday greeting on the windows in your home. This festive message is written on the entrance door glass.
Start by cleaning the glass before you apply paint, to ensure adhesion. Use acrylic paint pens, or use acrylic paint applied with a paintbrush. Sketch the basic composition of your window mural onto the glass. If you want to use multiple paint colors, plan out the color application. If you choose to paint the glass from the inside for display from the outer glass, you will want to work your colors in reverse.
The possibilities are endless, and you can personalize your message. Get creative and use your imagination. Scrape the paint off with a razor blade to remove your window mural at the end of the season, then clean the window.
