WESTON, Vt. – It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Weston. On Saturday, Dec. 6, from 11 a.m. to dusk, you’re cordially invited to join the entire town in our annual official welcome to the season. Activities include visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Weston Village Christmas Shop, cookie decorating at The Farrar-Mansur Museum, and cookie sales on the Green. Goat petting, caroling, and horse-drawn wagons are located at the Vermont Country Store. At The Little School, there will be holiday crafts, face painting, and a reading of “Firefighters to the Rescue” by author and illustrator R.W. Alley, plus an art lesson for the little ones. Mel Allen will be in town signing his “Here in New England” book. Music offerings will include our local Kinnhaven students, Nordic Harmoni with their Santa Lucia, and both “A Christmas Carol” and “A Weston Winter Cabaret” by the Weston Theater Company.
Most activities are free; donations will benefit the Weston Volunteer Fire Department (WVFD). Come and visit the WVFD tent on the Green and buy your raffle tickets for more than $3,000 in prizes. Santa will arrive on the fire engine to light off the fireworks display at dark.
