Ludlow Baptist Church invites community to celebrate 200th anniversary

Dear Editor,

We at Ludlow Baptist Church (LBC) would like to extend a warm invitation to our community to join us for our church’s upcoming 200th anniversary celebration on Saturday, July 11, from 4-7 p.m., at Ludlow Baptist Church, 99 Main Street in Ludlow, Vt.

It is all of grace that God has preserved Ludlow Baptist as a Gospel-preaching church over the last two centuries. For 200 years, the Good News of Jesus Christ has been proclaimed, and countless hundreds of men, women, and children have had their lives changed and come to saving faith in Jesus Christ, and Ludlow Baptist Church has been a beacon of love, service, and hope to our community.

Our theme for our gathering is “Until Now the Lord Has Helped Us,” which is what the prophet Samuel testified in 1 Samuel 7:12 after God worked a mighty act of deliverance for His people. This phrase not only speaks to what God has done in the past, but also looks forward in hope to what God will do in the future. And so, the focus of our evening will be on God’s faithfulness and how that ought to encourage us in hope for the days to come.

Our gathering will begin with a celebration service at 4 p.m., with singing, prayer, and messages from several pastors. Afterward we will have a free barbecue dinner, as we enjoy fellowship with one another and hear from LBC members of testimonies of God’s faithfulness to LBC over the years. We will wrap up at 7 p.m.

All are welcome. We hope to have you join us.

Sincerely,

Pastor Jerry
