Londonderry Arts and Historical Society Champagne Birthday Celebration

LONDONDERRY, Vt. – Celebrate the birthdays of both our nation and the Town of Londonderry at the Londonderry Arts and Historical Society’s annual fundraising event, a champagne birthday celebration, on Thursday, July 23, at 5:30 p.m., at the historic Custer Sharp House, 2461 Middletown Road in Londonderry.

The evening begins with champagne and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a lively and entertaining presentation by local history buffs Bob Wells and Bev Foster. Discover the fascinating story of Londonderry’s founding through colorful characters and little-known tales, and even learn where the town’s founders are buried today.

The celebration concludes with another toast of champagne and a taste of traditional election cake, the rich, spiced cake once served by early Americans on election day.

Guests will also have an opportunity to support the society’s “History Runs on More Than Memories” campaign, which helps build the reserves needed to preserve and maintain the Custer Sharp House, and continue the society’s educational programs and community events.

Reservations are requested by Friday, July 17. Tickets may be purchased at www.lahsvt.org.
