“Fashions of the Colonial Period” at Rockingham Library

BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – Join the Friends of the Rockingham Public Library for “Fashions of the Colonial Period” on Saturday, May 30, at 12 p.m. Journey with Karen “Ren” Antonowicz through the clothing trends and cultural influences of the 17th and 18th centuries, when style reflected societal norms and personal expression. “Fashions of the Colonial Period” is a fashion show featuring a slideshow and video clips from period films and television shows.

This event is free, open to the public, and will take place at the Rockingham Free Public Library, 65 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls, Vt.

Antonowicz holds a master’s degree in textiles, fashion merchandising, and design, with a concentration in historic costume and textiles. Antonowicz taught the history of fashion and other courses full time at the college level for 13 years. She continues to follow her passion for historic costume by conducting fashion-era presentations at libraries, senior centers, historical societies, museums, and historic homes.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Rockingham Public Library, an organization that was created to support and supplement the services offered by the library, which will in turn support and enrich our local community.
