Coolidge Historic Site upcoming events

PLYMOUTH, Vt. – Join us at the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Museum in Plymouth Notch, Vt., on Thursday, July 31, at 11 a.m., for a special event welcoming the newest Americans. At this naturalization ceremony, a number of people will become U.S. citizens. U.S. District Court judge Mary Kay Lanthier will administer the Oath of Allegiance to the United States.

Come help us honor President Coolidge’s commitment to the principle that “Divine Providence has not bestowed upon any race a monopoly of patriotism and character.”

Please join us for a cookie and lemonade reception immediately following the ceremony, hosted by the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation and the National Society of Colonial Dames of America in the State of Vermont.

Then, on Saturday, Aug. 2, we will celebrate the 102nd anniversary of President Calvin Coolidge’s homestead inauguration. The celebration will begin at 2:47 p.m., on the porch of the homestead, and will feature a reenactment of the inauguration.

The Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site, in collaboration with the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation, will reenact President Coolidge’s 1923 Inauguration, along with some of this year’s Coolidge “Senators,” and Gov. Jim Douglas.

Then join us for a Moxie Float to celebrate Moxie Day.

The Historic Site will be open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. that day.  You can learn more about visiting the Notch on the historic site’s website, www.coolidgefoundation.org.
