WESTMINSTER, Vt. – Tai chi is a meditative, slow practice that builds “chi,” or life energy. Generating and moving chi is what makes gentle tai chi a healing experience in contrast with mere exercise like jumping jacks or gym workouts. Doctors now prescribe tai chi to their patients.
Two beginner tai chi classes begin in September, at Westminster Institute, taught by senior instructor Leslie Lassetter, of Oriental Healing Arts.
Classes will be held on Tuesdays, at 10:30 a.m., and Thursdays, at 5:30 p.m. Westminster Institute is located at 3534 Route 5, Westminster, Vt. The cost of the classes is a sliding scale. Join during September as new moves build on already learned moves. Class is ongoing; learn Level 1, then 2, then 3, then long form.
Recovering from surgery or cannot stand for an hour? Seated tai chi meets Tuesdays, at 12:15 p.m. Join anytime for a gentle, all-body workout.
