Fletcher Memorial Library recycling program

LUDLOW, Vt. – Are you confused about recycling? Join us on Monday, April 13, at 5:30 p.m., at Fletcher Memorial Library. Come to the library to hear Andy Scherer, outreach coordinator for the Southern Windsor/Windham Counties Solid Waste Management District, discuss what goes where in your household recycling bin and at the transfer station. He’ll cover everyday items, from yogurt containers and plastic bags, to batteries and electronics, and more.

Scherer works with schools, businesses, and residents to help divert waste from landfills through education and outreach. He’s involved in the Southern Windsor/Windham Counties Solid Waste Management District’s recycling, hazardous waste, and composting programs. Prior to employment with the solid waste district, he has worked in sustainable agriculture and education. Patty Potter, manager at the Ludlow Transfer Station, will also be on hand to share information and answer questions.

Fletcher Memorial Library is located at 88 Main Street in Ludlow, Vt.  This program is free, open to the public, and accessible. More information about the library can be found at www.fmlnews.org, or give the library a call at 802-228-8921.
