CLAREMONT, N.H. – The Kiwanis of Claremont held its Brewfest and 5K event on Saturday, Sept. 19. This annual event’s proceeds go directly back into the greater Claremont community, helping to fund various children’s programs, events, and necessities.
The Battle of the Brews, a fun competition among the participating breweries at the Brewfest event, winners were as follows:
Best Non-Beer Offering, Woodchuck Cidery; Best Fruited Beer, Branch & Blade Brewing Co.; Best Oktoberfest, Travelers Rest; Best Stout/Porter, Protectworth Brewing; Best Lager/Pilsner; Liars Bench Beer Co.; Best Ale, Hopti Mystic Brewing; Best IPA, 7 Balls Brewing; Tasters Choice Awards, Great Awakening Brewing and Branch & Blade Brewing Co; People’s Choice Best Beer, 7 Balls Brewing; People’s Choice Best Non-Beer, Tommy’s Hard Rootbeer Seltzer.
It was a beautiful day for the Claremont Kiwanis Back to the Brewfest 5K. Congratulations to Joel Hernandez, first place overall, with a time of 22:29, and Beverly Petesseau, first place female, with a time of 22:35. Each won a $100 cash prize.
