Vagabonds Reenactment at Calvin Coolidge Historic Site

August 17 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

In August 1924 Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, and Harvey Firestone visited President Coolidge in Plymouth Notch as part of a leisurely car trip throughout New England. The meeting was highly publicized because the president was campaigning for the 1924 election and the automotive entrepreneurs were touting the superiority of their products. Amateur actors will reenact the meeting at the Coolidge Homestead at the Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site using quotes recorded by 1920s journalists who witnessed and documented the occasion.
