Used Bike and Sewing Machine Collection

September 19 @ 8:30 am - 1:00 pm

Do you have a bike or sewing machine that’s just collecting dust in your closet or garage? On September 19th, the Green Mountain Returned Peace Corps Volunteers will be collecting these items for community programs on 3 continents. Bikes become essential transportation for students, farmers, factory workers and entrepreneurs. Sewing machines open the door to a dignified livelihood for people living on the margins.
The 27th annual bike and sewing machine collection for Pedals for Progress will be held on September 19, from 8:30 am to 1 pm, at the Ross Sports Center on the campus of St. Michael’s College on Route 15 in Colchester.
The group asks for a $20 donation with each item, to defray part of the $50 international shipping cost.
We need volunteers. This is a great opportunity for students who want to earn community service hours, families who want a way to volunteer together, or individual community members. Those interested in volunteering are asked to reach out by emailing p4p.vermont@gmail.com by Sunday, September 13th.
