Pisgah State Park hike

August 4 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Free

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. – Meet at 9:30 a.m., at the Preston Lot on Flat Street in Brattleboro (across from the parking garage) to carpool, or meet at 10 a.m., at the Kilburn Pond trailhead off Route 63 between Hinsdale and Chesterfield.

The hike to Pisgah Mountain is one of the prettiest in the region. Along the way to the summit, we will explore beaver meadows, a porcupine bonsai glade, and the shores of beautiful Kilburn Pond. The view from the summit of Pisgah Mountain is worth the short steep climb to the peak.

Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center naturalist Patti Smith will be the guide, but will count on many eyes making many discoveries along the way. Participants should be prepared for gently rolling terrain, with the one aforementioned steep section. The total distance is four miles. Bring a lunch to picnic on the summit.
