Open house and gardens

August 20 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

The Fourth Corner Foundation in Windham Vermont is hosting an open house and gardens with scheduled tours on Aug. 20. Please stop by and visit this hidden gem garden anytime between 12–5 p.m. to wander the three acres of continuously blooming horticultural gardens. Property/garden maps are available. Guided tours of both the gardens and the sustainable architecture can be arranged by calling Steven Fellows or Bob Shannon at 802-875-2194.

The original gardens were designed 35 years ago by architect Robert Shannon; major modifications were made by Steven Fellows beginning 12 years ago. The design follows the constructs of Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burley Marx, using many plants with colorful foliage in mass plantings to add texture and color. Several areas are designed as English Cottage Gardens.

The Fourth Corner Foundation provides a place for people to research and share ideas regarding issues of sustainability through the disciplines of architecture, landscape and art and carries a mission to reach a larger community. The art gallery is expected to re-open in the spring or summer of 2023 following the completion of a major addition now in the late stages of construction
