LTE: Gary Blodgett and ESBR

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Expeditionary School at Black River, as Chairperson, I would like to thank the many people and businesses in the Ludlow area that have supported our middle and high school here in Ludlow. It is because of your support that we excitedly enter our third year with students at ‪43 Main St.

When the public high school closed down, a group of dedicated community people came together to try to offer a unique local option for students. After a year or more of planning and developing a school vision, the independent school called Expeditionary School at Black River opened in 2020. We now enter year three, and the school is growing and continuing to evolve. Our Head of School, Dr. Kendra Rickerby, has brought her years of education experience and enthusiasm to our school. She has a vast network of connections in education, outdoor experiences, and technology, and has utilized many local business and resources.

We hope you will visit our website at  www.esblackriver.org/ and also come to our Annual Silent Auction and Wine Tasting hosted this year at Jackson Gore ‪on Sept. 17 ‪from 5–8 p.m. You can view some of our auction items and bid early at www.esblackriver.org/social-fundraisers. Thank you to all of our local sponsors for this event. There are some wonderful items.

Sincerely,

Gary R. Blodgett

Chairperson of the Expeditionary School at Black River

Ludlow, Vt.
